Economic Vitality's Mission
Strengthening the existing economic assets of the business district by supporting our business community while diversifying its economic base. Activities include recruiting new businesses to provide a balanced retail mix, converting vacant buildings into housing, offices, entertainment, or cultural facilities, and sharpening the competitiveness of Main Street’s traditional merchants.

Business Education Classes
The Economic Vitality Committee proudly offers informative and practical business education classes designed to empower small business owners. These free quarterly sessions cover a range of topics, from essential HR skills (HR 101) to harnessing the power of social media for business growth. They also delve into valuable resources, such as those provided by Grow with Google, Fayette County Economic Development & Tourism, and US Cellular. This dedicated committee actively seeks out pertinent subjects, secures knowledgeable speakers, and hosts these classes to equip entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive.
West Union Main Street Chamber Revolving Loan Fund
The Economic Vitality Committee oversees the West Union Main Street Chamber Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), supporting small businesses in West Union through startups and expansions, with a focus on job creation. Eligible applicants include individuals, partnerships, businesses, corporations, and non-profit organizations, excluding municipal and county governments.
