About Us

Little Hearts Childcare follows the North Fayette Valley School District school year. Please see our current calendar for start dates, holidays, and breaks throughout the year. We operate from 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. Options for attendance (Full Day/Part Day) are listed on the application form. Summer Care contracts are available upon request. There will be no deviations from these options, including hourly service. This is to ensure quality programming and financial stability for our family.

Little Hearts Chiildcare is a family-owned business managed by Kendra Van Gelder. Kendra has a BA from Western Oregon University focusing in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and worked for 3 years at the Teaching Research Institute’s Child Development Center located at Western Oregon University. Then provided in-home care for children for 4 years while starting her family. Kendra then returned to public education through Early Head/Head Start with Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency for 5 years. She then moved to a Teacher’s Assistant position with the Perrydale School District near Dallas, Oregon for a year and a half. In Fall of 2021 Kendra and her family moved to West Union, where she became a Paraeducator substitute until the arrival of her youngest child.
